So Sad

Challenger astronauts were alive during fall.

"In the face of such expert beliefs, NASA finally made this official admission: “The forces on the Orbiter (shuttle) at breakup were probably too low to cause death or serious injury to the crew but were sufficient to separate the crew compartment from the forward fuselage, cargo bay, nose cone, and forward reaction control compartment.”

Thanks to all the faceless and nameless engineers and scientists and technicians who designed and worked on the shuttle. They created a space vehicle that, IF something catastrophic like this happened, would give the crew the best chance for survival. When I hear that the crew cabin stayed INTACT after the explosion we all saw, I have to give them full credit for giving the crew at least SOME chance of surviving.

Yep. For a long time NASA denied finding many remains, but as it turned out they did recover enough to bury.
