Michael Bay's THE LAST SHIP Series Trailer
I am not a fan of Michael Bay or any of his movies but this one looks very promising. I like these kind of characters in crisis type of stories. Much like that other one I liked from last summer - Last Resort. It's too bad that show only got one season worth of shows but as a 13 episode political and military actioner it's not bad at all. Good actors and they sorta got to resolve most things by the time they were cancelled.

On the same theme, here's a movie from 1980 called "Virus", directed by Kinji Fukasaku ("Battle Royale"), "Virus" is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure tale set in the future where a military-engineered virus has wiped out most of the human population, with a handful of survivors in Antarctica who desperately try to find a way to resurrect the human race.
