Avengers Confidential Anime - Black Widow And Punisher

I never thought I would see a film combining these two street level heroes in the style of Japanese anime. It was, to say the least, and interesting combination of heroes vs evil...one that I found fresh. I liked the way both Punisher and Widow saw something to respect about each other. But mostly respect each others pain, suffering and sacrifice.

It was an interesting story that took the time to give each character room to breath.

The animation is often symbolic and like a poster for the worst of Jihadists at time. I felt the influence of Steranko for several moments if you can believe that.

I got tired of the Punisher bitching about 'the victims' but that IS his pressure point so I understand his focussed linear approach to the covert mission he undertakes with the Black Widow. Of course their methods do not match and that is half of the fun of watching the two of them kick ass.

It should be noted at this time that this is not a cartoon for the little ones. There are many gruesome deaths by bullets, knives and bare hands - enough to count on both fingers and toes.

There is some dark terrorism going on here.

The Punisher is such a pain in the ass. Why won't he just follow the rules for once and follow protocol - why can't he see the big picture for once. Frank Castle only sees past his next 'punishment'.
