My Comfort Movie Rewatches This Weekend

The Freshman

Clark Kellogg is a young man starting his first year at film school in New York City. After a small time crook steals all his belongings, Clark meets Carmine "Jimmy the Toucan" Sabatini, an "importer" bearing a startling resemblance to a certain cinematic godfather. When Sabatini makes Clark an offer he can't refuse, he finds himself caught up in a caper involving endangered species and fine dining.

Cold Comfort Farm

This is a heartwarming comedy full of charm and clever satire. Kate Beckinsale stars as Flora Poste, a London society girl. Recently orphaned, Flora ignores the sage advice of Mrs. Smiley (Joanna Lumley) and moves to the country to live on a decrepit farm with her eccentric relatives.

Crossing Delancey

The love story between an uptown girl and a pickle merchant that is funnier and sweeter than it deserves to be.

Stand And Deliver

Edward James Olmos's Oscar-nominated performance energizes this true- life story of a Los Angeles high school teacher who drives his students on to excellence at calculus.

I learn so much about media when you talk movies. I've only heard of one of these films, but seen none of them. Clearly this needs to be amended.

I haven't seen any of these movies either, but I did read the novel "Cold Comfort Farm" years ago when I was young and had time to read.
