“We are honored by the relationship that our fans have with our characters, and fully understand the magnitude of their passion,” a company spokesperson said in a statement released this morning. “We take each request seriously and our heartfelt thoughts go out to the victims, the family and those affected. DC Entertainment uses a flexible set of criteria when we receive worthy requests such as this, and at times have reconsidered our initial stance. After verifying the support of appropriate family members, DC Entertainment will be allowing the Jeffrey Baldwin Memorial Statue to feature the Superman S Shield.”

It's so sad at what happened to this little boy. It's CRIMINAL in the way that Social Services handled this file when these children were put in the care of unfit caregivers. Where is the supervision? This death was horrible and needless. The picture of the young Jeffrey in the Superman costume in what must have been a great day in his life, symbolized the hope we all have for children. The potential they all have to grow up to do great and heroic things. This little boy didn't get his chance. I am glad DC let it's control over it's property loosen a bit in this occasion. It's a human decision that makes an inhuman situation just a little bit better. Hope is all we have in the face of madness. Think about Hope when you think of Jeffrey Baldwin.
