I have a very personal relationship with Star Wars but not with Star Wars toys which is very strange given my love for toys. It's complicated and has more to do with me as a person than the products themselves which are top notch and display very well. The latest incarnation of figures are beautiful near perfect plastic likenesses of the characters from the live action universe. I want some from the newest movie myself but then where does it end. Always good to keep some things at arms reach until they pass in front of you again in the future.
I saw this set today and now I HAVE to have it for two reasons. The first is that the classic Vader is hard to say no to since he was the ONLY Kenner figure I had from the original toy line. The second is my love for Ahsoka Tano, the one time Padawan learner of Darth Vader when he was only Annakin Skywalker. It's a great thing to have continue in the REBELS cartoon which aired it's second episode last night. Finally we are into Season Two. This figure is one of several there are of her out there, none of which I currently own. I have to fix that hole in my collecting net.
You want to talk complicated relationships?? These two have that area covered. I only see this ending badly for Ahsoka. I don't want to watch it happen in front of me but I will. For her I will watch.
