This is called a Blueline figure. I hate the lack of color.
Last year at SDCC, DC Collectibles put out a pretty cool alternate version of their New 52 Batman figure featuring an all white body with nothing but the “pencils and inks” you’d see in a comic page before it was colored. This style was called Blueline due to the pages comic artists use to submit their work for further processing. This year they’ve continued the trend, but not as a SDCC exclusive with New 52 Superman. The figure is done up the same way by artist Jim Lee and features a sketch card with special packaging.

Yeah, doesn't work for me either. Just don't get the point.
I don't know... it's a curiosity for me! The same way the Batman NES figure was. It's terrible & fascinating at the same time. An action figure equivalent of a train wreck?

So... are we supposed to color him in?
EXACTLY!! What the hell do I do with this thing? I don't get it.
I think they're interesting and creative. I'm holding my breath for Wonder Woman.
Albino Superman? And what are those dark lines all
over him--do they outline his internal organs?
Just...disturbing.
he's supposed to look like a sketch..but a sketch come to life. seeing a 2D image in 3D is disturbing...I agree.
I've never been a fan of the black and white variant covers -- whether "sketch" or "pencils and inks" (as opposed to an actual SKETCH cover, i.e., ORIGINAL artwork) -- and this just takes that one step further. WHY would I want this except for the novelty of it? (Which is exactly why I DON'T want it.)
