Alex Ross is one of the immortal greats. His technique is matchless in all of illustration as are his use of color and his design brilliance. No one does photorealism like Ross. He and Liefeld couldn't be further apart on the comic creator spectrum. My favorite comic story of all time, KINGDOM COME is all Ross art and a fantastic story by Mark Wade. If you have never read it you owe it to yourself to discover the magic.
