The Final (2009)
"Think of this as a final with only one question. What did I do to deserve this?"
This will not be a movie that ends well I am sure of that.
The story revolves around two groups of high school students. The repulsive 'in crowd' and the heavily abused 'outcasts'. Hell, I wanted to kill those popular kids myself (they are that loathsome) and was kinda happy there was a plan afoot to do a little payback. I couldn't wait long enough for it to happen. But that is just what a good little revenge thriller does, right?
All the years of abuse come to a head during a high school costume party. The outcasts have an elaborate plan to finally take revenge on their tormentors and to broadcast it over the Internet.
The sad part is that the 'outcasts' are not bad kids. They have just been pushed too far. They are smart and nerdy but have little support at home and no one but each other to support them. I am actually surprised that this kind of thing doesn't happen more often.
Bullying is something I never tolerated when I taught especially since way too often administration turned a blind eye to it so as not to rock the boat and have to deal with the parents.
The costume aspect is a nice twist. It gives a additional level of creepiness to the story.
I gotta admit that this one got to me. The characters are well drawn and well acted and the plot has alot of inventive twists to it. I can see it giving teens ideas that they don't need to be having. It is cathartic though.

Sounds like a good idea for a revenge movie. Might be worth a look at when on TV.
I'm a fan of the bad guys wearing masks, like in 'The Strangers'....
