This is Iqaluit, Nunavut today, July 3rd 2013 @ 7:45am.
I lived here for a year back in the 90s. They have 24 hrs of light at this time of year but there is the snow in July. I miss that place so much. I think I am going to check into teaching jobs up there for the fall. I suddenly have this burst or wanderlust. Come to think of it I can blog from anywhere in the world. I have no friends and only one family member to leave behind and she would be happy to see me go I think. Just for my sake and my mental stability. My mother always wanted to see the far far North so she could visit. I will keep you all updated on my progress. I needed a mission and now I have found myself one.

Wow. Big move Cal. By all means, do it if you really want to. Life is indeed too short and filled with joy and grief, so an adventure should rarely be turned down. We're with you no matter where you are so there you go.
What will happen with the Admiral if you decide to go?
I got some positive feedback from the Education department so we will see where this goes. I will miss the Admiral but he will always have his home here. I would never up root him that far. I would see him at Christmas but it would be a disruption of both our lives for sure.
I just got a notion today and followed through and now we'll see. A lot has to happen for me to go from here to there before it's all a reality. Either way it's a good use of my time to prepare the documentation in case I want to apply to sub teach this fall. It's all part of a larger plan.
I hope your plans come to fruition. I heard somewhere that to make big plans is a good way to hear the gods laugh. I hope that isn't the case with you.
HA HA...making the god's laugh is a habit of mine. I can set the wheels in motion pretty easily so lets see.
I finally remembered where I heard that. It was on an episode of Deadwood. Al Swearengen said it to the doctor when they were discussing what the Doc had planned for the future. Good luck old bean!
But they don't have toys up there right?
Looks like a GREAT place for ADVENTURE :)
opps..they don't have toys...you are right. I will have to get them shipped home in Alberta. I will figure something out.
you have LOTS of toys, LOL! Show us some more of those, will ya? Your collection is epic!
Yours is equally as epic Colin.
Dude that would be awesome. I bet you could totally create an even more bad ass cave there.
