Hey Cal, I've gotten caught up in this and find myself checking here all the time and even telling friends about the Canadian blogger whose cat hasn't returned from a prowl. I understand you're approaching it stoically and I don't want to mess with that. I've had my cat for 14+ years too, and when he ran away for a week I was similarly upset. The quality of the pain is startling because your innermost sanctum, which is YOURS (and your cat's) has been messed with. I completely totally understand how that feels. Anyway hang in there and remember that despite immediate evidence to the contrary you're NOT alone (the comments on this blog testify to that) and that everybody understands how you're feeling. Anyway just a shout out from a fan in New York City...
Do what you must. Like I said, don't throw in the towel just yet. Here's something to distract you for a minute. Why don't they release Solomon Kane on Region 1 or A for Bluray? I've been waiting to see it for a long time. I don't feel like buying an all region dvd player just for this movie. Could you use your not inconsiderable influence to speed things up. There's a list you can put yourself on on Amazon to be informed when it comes out, but who knows when that will happen. Maybe we could hire a tracker kitty to hunt down the Admiral and bring him home. Have you tried an open can of his favorite kitty food out there where in makes his ingress and egress?
Thanks for that Jordan. It helps to hear stories of cats coming home after weeks to give me hope and hope is all I have. I took big bags of litter and cat food to the shelter today and they assured me I am doing all I can to find him. He has an ear tattoo so if they come across him dead or in a cat trap then they will track him back to me.
Dr. G. You need to get on the bit torrent movie bandwagon my friend. You can download movies like 'Solomon Kane' easily. I watched it about a year ago and remember that I really liked it. It had that gloomy mood and Purefoy was pretty spot on as Kane. Pete Postletwaite was in it too and the CGI monsters are above average.
As I'm sure you know, ancient Egyptians shaved their eyebrows off when they were in mourning for their cats. That might give you an interesting "look." But -- please don't go shaving anything off yet! Let's hope Admiral Fluffy will make it home eventually, like Tao in The Incredible Journey.
I just wanted to say, I hope you find your cat soon, hun. I'm a reader from the UK, I've not commented before... but I know what it's like to lose a kitteh and be worried and hope that they will return. So big hugs your way Mister, and I hope that Fluffy comes home soon. Best wishes your way!!
The last time I shaved my beard off was also a time of mourning for me a girl I loved took her love away. I had this idea that under the fuzz I might actually be handsome. I was wrong. I looked like a potatoe. One that had fallen down the back of the fridge and hadn't seen sunlight for a while. I hope this confession makes you smile. Thinking of you my friend and the fluffy one.
That DID make me smile Brother Nick. I am lucky to have a nice head for shaving bald but I DO NOT look good without a moustache or other facial hair. I would trim but not eliminate entirely. I would like to get some beard wax and do some steampunk look designs before I shave it off.
I'm just getting caught up on blogs. I can't believe this. I am so very sorry. My sister lost her dog last year and it devastated her. I hope Admiral will stride back home soon with some good stories to tell.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

I have been thinking of 'The Incredible Journey' and 'Milo and Otis' lately but I can't watch them. I don't have enough tears.
Thanks for commenting Toni. I wish we had met under better circumstances.

Thanks for thinking of me.
