Most Gruesome 'Mars Attacks' Trading Cards

http://www.toplessrobot.com/2012/10/the_20_most_twisted_mars_attacks_cards.php

Half a century ago, Topps unleashed a decadent series of trading cards called Mars Attacks onto the nation's impressionable young minds. The parental outcry was so strong that the cards were yanked from store shelves only months later. But the legend lived on, no doubt due to what '60s kids remembered about the cards' graphic depiction of a brutal attack on Earth courtesy of the big-brained, masochistic denizens of our solar system's reddest planet.

Absolutely LOVE this artwork.

The movie was excellent as well, as was the cool toyline.

Man, those must have scarred an entire generation of kids for life. Plus created a few serial killers.

Oh those wacky 1950s. What a great representation of the fears of space and science during those times.

These cards were painted by pulp artist legend Norman Saunders. Some of them actually had to be repainted before they were printed because they were "too objectionable".

These cards did create serial killers, in a way. They inspired the filmmakers who created Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers...
