Leave me the one new character that I could like...no, love, and just snuff his life out so that you can give me a clone or some Lazarus pit psycho for the next five years. I remember this story when it was about The Red Hood - Jason Todd, may HE rest in peace.

Fuck you DC. Fuck you and your cold cynical heart. If you want to know what the Image guys contributed to the DC cannon, THIS is it. They had a ten year old character beaten to death and then stabbed, with all the sound effects and blood splattering goes along with that. And for what?

Damien/Robin's popularity was never as high. Damien made every other character around him better and more interesting because we could put the various Robins (There have been five) into their historical context. You could see each Robin evolved into the new character they would become.

 

Damien was the newest Robin and the only one who is actually related to Bruce Wayne. Damien is his son by Talia Al Ghul, The daughter of Ras Al Ghul, one of Batman's greatest villains. They had the child then gave him away in Son of the Demon graphic novel - in my opinion one of the great Batman stories of all time.
