Just Found This Book In The Library Of Cool

I bought it back in 2000 when I was teaching in a rural school and needed a great paperback to read at night before bed. It was the way I relaxed back then from the stress of the school day. Then I realized that comics were a better choice than this huge novel with small writing. But I always kept it.

I suppose I could read it now but the TV has let me down and I suspect the book would do the same. I hear it makes some people crazy.

I've just finished reading this book and watching Season 1 of TV series! I loved it. I've bought the 2nd book, A Clash of Kings, and am just about to start reading it. After Moby-Dick, this is a piece of cake, man.

You may have convinced me because I dropped the TV show early. Is the book just as frustrating with all the casual death and depravity?

Oh yes, totally. Don't get attached to any of the characters.
