Cal! I forgot to tell you this the other day, when you did your excellent "The Tell-Tale Heart" post:

There's a wonderful 1953 animated short film of the story, done by the UPA -- in their inimitable style- and narrated by James Mason. It was shown to my class in some Halloween-related context in the late 1970s (on a Bell & Howell 16mm projector...I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about) and it freaked me out completely, in the most fantastic way.

Maybe you're familiar with this version...it seems like your kind of thing.

That UPA stuff is just so awesome. There's also a great version of Ogden Nash's "The Hangman," which also freaked me out in similar circumstances back in the 1970s.

I remember those monster cards, had the whole set at one time
when I was a kid. That one was one of my favorites.
