The Wave

Perhaps the greatest afterschool special of them all. I watched this one as a teen and really believed that something like this could happen in real life. I knew lots about Nazi Germany and Hitler but even I was surprised that they took it so far. Worth your time if you have never seen this cultural icon before. I know many a social studies teacher, like myself, who have used this to teach a very important lesson - that ANYONE can be convinced to do terrible things if they are convinced the group around them also believes it's the right thing to do. To stand up against such bullying and hatred is to invite the pain upon yourself. It's so much easier to just go along than to fight for the truth and for what is right.
