Value Village Find

This one was still in the package. During the late 70s, this was one of my favorite cartoons on Saturday morning. I loved the music, the lack of voices and the fun little gags. You also have to admit that the Pink Panther is one of the coolest kitties of all time. Smooth and cool with a jazzy personally that fit perfectly in these cartoons. He always did the right and just thing and fought injustice in his unique way. The stories were beautifully constructed too. Most times these were the cartoons that was shown before good movies like James Bond because they were movie quality. But on Saturday morning is where I found the greatness of Pinky. All the gags were visual as the show voiceless. It was charming and was a calm smart cartoon among the chaos of the Wacky Races. A perfect combination.

Watching today, I was transported back to a time that special to me. My Saturday mornings for years consisted of cartoons, sugary cereal, bowling in the afternoon, a cheeseburger and fries with gravy, Road Runner cartoons, Stampede Wrestling from Calgary, AWA Wrestling from Winnipeg, Hee Haw and pizza for supper. Those were my best days thanks to one naked pink puma.
