Just like I said over at the Dork Review, it’s an end of an era. I cannot imagine my childhood without a couple of beat up copies of MAD hidden under my pillows with an old flashlight.

It was the magazine your parents let you get at the supermarket. I am glad I still have my collection of reprints from the 80s where they did all their earliest stuff in these volumes that collected the original issues combines with stuff from their years of bits. The early stuff is really great but the 70s is my fav. I also have the reent hardcover best of SPY VS SPY. Beautiful oversized volume. Mad TV did some of those bit as well.

MAD was an integral part of my adolescence. RIP, Alfred E. Neuman!
