She Still Impresses The Hell Out Of Me

My most favorite Soviet sister girl with balls as big as church bells. A true believer in her nation and her duty and never wavered in the slightest when she was called upon. After three days in space she had to PARACHUTE from her seat and land HERSELF safely because the geniuses back at rocket command hadn't got that far yet. If that alone doesn't impress you then nothing will.



On the day of her solo space flight in 1963, 26-year-old Soviet cosmonaut and first woman in space Valentina Tereshkova told her mother that she was attending a skydiving competition. Her mother discovered where she actually was from a radio announcement later that day.
