The standards were very high to get a Gold medal and we were all super fit back then and still we failed. I won only Silver and we NEVER knew a kid who got the Award of Excellence. You had to be a Olympian to get that one.

I got the Award of Excellence several times. Gotta brag about that since I never got any Olympic try-outs or anything.
I hated, loathed and despised Participaction. Despite my asthma, I worked my ass off and never did better than silver! Now if they had tested endurance walking instead of chin-ups and sprinting, I would've done better.
