30 Day Song Challenge - Day 2 - Least Favorite Song

Well, this one was easy. You would right to suspect me to go right to 'Nickelback' and their catalogue of dreck but there is actually a song out there that I hate more than anything NB crapped out of their garage.

I find this song so loathsome that my hatred for it and him dripped down a generation and affected my feeling for his child initially.

Yes, It's Billy Ray Cyrus and his 'Achey Breaky Heart'.

Everything about this song makes me puke. His country swagger and mulletriffic hairstyle - the way he wears his 'wife-beater' t-shirt - the way he started and perpetuated that 'country pop' trend that sees every goofball with a cowboy hat filling stadiums to churn out their musical balloon juice to the hillbilly masses. The Biography Channel did a feature on him. Yes, you heard me right - Billy Ray and Joan of Arc - channel buddies.

It is all so wrong. I have an actual physical reaction to this song. Whenever anyone at the school wanted to get under my skin with a practical joke they knew as long and they 'achey breaky'd' it, that would be enough.

I do like his daughter though. Sure she smacks her gum and talks with that same hillbilly drawl but you gotta admire someone who had a father so dislikable and still got the lion share of his 'talent' passed onto her. I secretly enjoy him having to watch her grow up and date middle aged Russians.

His role on her show is the worse kind of acting and that HAIRSTYLE!!!! I thought the mullet was bottom of the barrel but as usual I am wrong. Fifty year olds with a surfer teens' shaggy mop is just sad.

I am not even going to post a picture or a video. You all know of the garbage of which I speak. GAH!

I know all of the lyrics to that song! *gasp*

I think Miley has made her dad into a "cool guy" now, though...

I think Billy Ray regularly plays at concerts organized by Sean Hannity, which is another point against the guy. I remember seeing him host some documentary on rednecks as well, which seems appropriate.

Really, though, if "Achy Breaky Heart" didn't exist, what would old people line dance to?
