Mixed Bits
* Can someone tell me what the lady with the longest fingernails in the world does on the toilet? WHAT DOES SHE DO ON THE TOILET?????? She can't wipe or type? Why live then? How does she resist the urge to just knaw those off? You could accomplish the same effect by taking a person in a persistent vegetative state and not cutting their nails for 20 years. What does one talk about with her? Sports? Movies? or is it always NAILS NAILS NAILS? GAH!
* The opening sequences of both 'Southland' and the 'Mentalist' are great. The first has a great minimalist score matched with non-colored slides showing the dark side of policing in LA while the second is the perfect combination of short music with a two toned image/silhouette of the hero, Patrick Jane. Simple is best.
*There are two kinds of car chases on TV. One takes place in the middle of the city and the cars are weaving in and out of traffic and the other takes place at an abandoned refinery on gravel roads with big puddles so the cars make big splashes. Which do you think is more exciting to watch?....THANK YOU.
*Why does every character on either NCIS show have to be 'quirky' and go against type. Oh look, she is a girl but knows about cars. Oh there is the little boss with all the tea and zen wisdom and skills beyond those of Batman. Oh when I brood I am acting and acting means I never smile...ever. Again I say it...GAH!
*Since Mythbusters has already proven that a flipped car will not explode like it's filled with rocket fuel mere seconds after it lands on its roof, then why do I need to see this bit over and over again? Oh look, we got him out of his car just in time to avoid the explosion that wrecks ten city blocks.
*Can you really take the pulse of a person who is injured while your own heart is beating so fast? Especially if you come across a particularly violent scene?
*I have been doing this 30 Song Challenge and was watching a bunch of videos on da 'You Tubes' and can you believe that THOMAS fricken' DOLBY has his songs 'embeded denied by request'. YES, the 'She Blinded Me With Science' guy. I wanted to add 'One of Our Submarines' and it was denied me. THOMAS DOLBY?!?!?!. That is so weak.
*Having seen both 'Rome' and 'Spartacus - Blood and Sand' I can say with confidence that for the great civilization they were touted to be, Rome was pretty messed up. It was the worst of all our modern excesses without the 24/7 ability to broadcast it to the world. And did you see what they did on the toilet? ON THE TOILET????

I love NCIS. It's a great show. The Spin off sucketh big big, but NCIS is is great.
Also I suggest the woman with the fingernails doesn't use the bathroom. That's the only answer.
I like it too. The season premiere where Tony and Ziva were held prison is on my top ten episodes on any show ever. How else could it have ended except with Gibbs pulling out the long range sniper rifle once more. I just hate when he gets all moody. I NEED him to have a long relationship with that lawyer. Last weeks episode with his ex-mother in law was nice. We got to see his heart and those are always the best episodes.
I have nothing good to say today or yesterday.
Just watched The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. That was good.
I said it now since now isn't today or yesterday.
Buckaroo makes everything better.
How does that woman do anything with those nails? I know that the man with the longest fingernails can't use his hand anymore, his nerves are shot.
What do people with no arms do on the toilet? Hire someone to do it?

Re: The Mentalist...the main character is Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker, not Thomas Jane, the actor. :) Just sayin'
I don't want to know how she toilets!
Love The Mentalist. Never watched Southland.
Love Spartacus. Great show, pure entertainment. Hope that lead actor guy (I can't remember his name) gets through his cancer ordeal a-ok!
Oh, and I was gonna do the 30 song/30 day thing, but decided not to. Enjoying your posts, tho!
Don't watch NCIS. My tolerance for law & order shows is low. Mentalist is pretty good. Spartacus was very watchable.
Buckaroo Bonzai is a classic and the best car chase is still the one in Bullit (Steve McQueen) with the Charger and the Mustang thru the streets of S.F.
Fingernails? I chew mine off when I get stressed.
Thanks Rayvn. My people are the best.
My kid and I were talking about that chick with the world's longest nails just the other day ~ she can't do ANYTHING. How does she eat? Out of a trough? How does she gets dressed? Can she even open a door?
Our verdict: she has some schmuck who does EVERYTHING for her, including wiping her ass.
What a life!
Well when you put it like that Cora it does seem appealing. I think I will start with ONE toe nail and see what kind of 'helper monkey' stuff I can get away with.
On cars exploding even though they shouldn't: one of the worst moments in "Die Hard 2" came when an airplane crashes and explodes into the biggest fireball since Dresden, and yet we've already established that the plane's fuel tanks are nearly completely empty!
City streets car chases. And what about windy mountain roads car chases? I like those too.
You mean the winding mountain road car chases where there is an truck overloaded with pinapples and with faulty brakes coming down the mountain as they are racing up it?
The one that goes off the road and explodes in the gully below like the pinapples are full of rocket fuel?
Yep.
