Did that Red Sonia movie with Rose ever get made? I saw a poster but thought it was a fan made thing.
And as for Barbarella I want someone like Luc Besson to make it. He did 'Fifth Element' and has a future eye for weird style that this movie would need.
Plus he loves women and would turn Christina into more of a goddess than she is now. If I was one of her 'people' I would be pushing for this. She needs something huge and iconic like this at this point in her carreer.
Do you see that Calvin is all love. I cry because I give and give and give. No No No, don't thank me ladies. That is not why I do it.
I think McGowan is out as Red Sonja. Frankly, I don't get excited about Robert Rodriguez films until I see a release date. He needs a life coach. Someone to tell him what to work on so he can fucking complete something.
I forget who Red is "going" to be now. I think someone posted on the She-Devil blog.
MD - NOW do you see what my life is like here in the Cave of Cool?
Someone has to put these ideas out in the ether to be picked up by smarter and more creative people than myself.
After seeing so many movies I like to think I am a casting genius however.
We don't NEED a remake of Barbarella Nomad. Nothing can ever be as cool as the original. But IF the mindset is to remake remake remake then I want them to remake the right stories that can endure the updating.
DUNE for example is being remade. That story is so unique and has such a bizarre setting that I appreciate all the ways they have visually depicted that world.
People who hate the David Lynch version are not DUNE fans. They are regular movie goers and I agree with them that the film is totally inaccessible unless you are familar with the material.
Literary Classics such as 'Slaughterhouse Five' could do with a mondern retelling. They did a version of 'The Portrait of Dorian Grey' this year that I really liked.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

Yes. YES! A thousand times YES!
and I've said that exact same thing too.
i say the same yes, but add a hell-yess! add drool here!
I thought I read that they were re-doing "Barbarella" but with Rose McGowan...but yeah Christina Hendricks as Barb works for me!
I'd buy two tickets.
As for Rose... That was a Rodriguez venture, IIRC. So it will never, ever happen. He's more a thinker than a doer :-D
Now you're talking, Dude! Christina Hendricks as Barbarella... in 3D!
I'd stand in line for three days to see that.

Again, Calvin, now you are talking. Christina Hendricks... Luc Besson... is there no end to your string of brilliant ideas?
What's wrong with the original?
Jane Fonda was awesome. That first scene with her on the carpet in faux zero G was 8>.

I'd see that movie. Again and again.
Genius.
