I seem to be totally obsessed with lions these days. It seems like alot of images and lion related stories on the internet and on TV are passing within my sphere of recognition. They are remarkably gorgeous looking cats and it's pretty cool to see them together as a family unit even though it's at a zoo.
Most zoos today are really well set up to enrich the lives of the animals that live there. Sure some are still terrible and those are the ones I hate the most but I have become a huge proponent of zoos as educational research centers like 'Tiger Island' (They produced a great series about this place for British TV.) in Great Britain or many of the other big cat sanctuaries in India and Australia.
