Tesla was and is the most famous Serbian scientist and also one of the most mysterious ones ever. Things he invented and discovered have changed the world forever.
Tesla was the real deal. What kind of world would we live in today if Edison had worked with him instead of actively trying to destroy him at every turn. Edison was a jealous dickhead. Have you ever heared or read the story about the elephant and the AC/DC current debate (direct current vs alternating current). Edison was for DC (and later regretted his selection) and Tesla was for AC. Edison electrocuted an elephant using AC current energy just to prove his point that it was dangerous. The image of that was worth a thousand words to the financial backers who went with Edison.
the most interesting part about Tesla are all of his unknown, mysterious discoveries - like time-travel, transmission, some special weaponry ... totally crazy things ... This is why, after his death, the Serbian and the American governments were fighting for the things he left behind him, his papers and research ... Probably the biggest scientist ever ... and off course the pride and joy of my country :)
Have you seen THE PRESTIGE? David Bowie plays Tesla. It's a brilliant movie.
Tesla has been mythologized even more so that Einstein because he became so secretive after his humiliation by Edison. He ended up in a tenement apartment in Brooklyn (?) keeping pigeons.
Those posters, though -- EPIC WIN! I want 'em all!
I love the 'Prestige'. The ending of that movie is haunting and genius all at the same time. The fact that they came to that end without forshadowing what the 'trick' really was was very rewarding. I knew it was a trick but not how GREAT a trick it was.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

Like I said..IF ONLY. I could be using my time machine to shop for old action figures as we speak.
Have you ever read the comic Atomic Robo? It's the adventures of a sentient robot created by Tesla who fights monsters and Nazis? Great book.
