I did not know any were left, just read about him..Wow Happy Birthday and thank you for you service.
WW II wasn't so bad. You at least had a legitimate REASON to be there and the sacrifice lead to the greatest era in human prosperity after the war. Unless you lived in Soviet bloc nations, or Africa - okay forget what I said. War sucks.
Happy Bday to him indeed. It's weird that there is only one left. Time passes by, oh well..
I used to know a WWI veteran; the difference was that he wore a spiked helmet. Shared a lot of beers with him, and heard a lot of interesting stories.
We have only one left too. (here in OZ) It will be a sad day indeed when we lose them all..
