There was a used book and magazine shop in Edmonton where I went to University. It was a must visit every Saturday morning. The guy had two awesome bookstore cats and sold comic books for the price on the cover. Then he bought the back for half the cover price. He made a nice sum selling the same 10 and 25 cent comics over and over. Sure they were a little beat up but those were great issues to have in my collection. My rooming would be a dozen and return them like it was a lending library but I saved all of mine. I am glad I did. When the new owners took over (this was 28 years ago when i was in University) they promptly cancelled the policy AND didn't allow cats in THEIR store. I haven't returned since.

I used to read them at 10¢; if you got the Classics Illustrated, those cost 12¢.

Well they were classics. That justified the higher price.
