Summer Memories
I remember spending many summer days making our own bows so that we could fire flaming cattails into the swamp as the sun was going down. I miss those days when we had blatant disregard for our own safety and the safety for those around us.
It was amazing how our parents didn't like us playing with fire but had no problem with us tossing the lawn darts at each other or riding our bikes without helmets. It was a golden age to live in.

Flaming cattails! Sounds very cool. I'm glad a lawn dart didn't get you in the old noggin.
Who ever said I wasn't hit many times with lawn darts? It's a badge of honor for anyone from my generation.
Golden days, indeed. Bikes without helmets or knee and elbow pads, rock throwing wars, playing in construction sites.
Those were the days.
Throwing ball bearings is so much better than throwing rocks.
