Just picked up for next season, Marvel's show about SHEILD, the super secret spy organization in the Marvel comic book and movie universe. This seems like a great way for new characters and concepts to be introduced to the ravenous Marvel film fan base before showing up on the big screen in the summer blockbuster films. I am not sure if Coulson is alive or dead since I have no idea what time period this show is set in. I assume it comes after the first Avengers film. He could also be a LMD (life model decoy) which would be a great reveal to end Season 1.
I hope they milk the corners of the Marvel Universe for cool and fun nuggets that will appeal to the fan boys in all of us and reward long time Marvel maniacs.

Even with the promo its difficult to say how this show will play out. I imagine we'll see super science the likes of AIM or HYDRA. Perhaps they'll sprinkle in mutants to prep for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's rumored appearance for Avengers 2.
The way Coulson says they investigate unclassified cases makes it sound like the X-Files, I wonder just how procedural it might end up being as far as genre.
Wikipedia says J. August Richards of Angel will play a part in the pilot. I'm thinking maybe Young Nick Fury?
Nick Fury was 'young' in the 1930s. He's got something called the INFINITY FORMULA inside him that keeps him from aging. He was in WWII as a soldier.
I am looking forward to some good humor and maybe MODOK if they use AIM.
Yes thats how Nick Fury was in the comics, I doubt they'd pile something that heavy on us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet, especially since this Nick Fury doesn't have roots in World War 2 with the Howling Commands like his comic book counterpart. For as many appearances as he has made in the movies, Nick Fury doesn't have much of defined character just yet
It must be another character nightmare for the makers of the sequel who have to balance even more actors and heroes. The movie will have to be five hours to give everyone their due.
