I was always a big fan of Rogue since her appearance in the X-men as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. He ability to 'absorb' another mutants' powers by touching them made her infinitely unpredictable in battle. She debuted as a villain in Ms Marvel #25 but soon after absorbing the powers and memories of Carol Danvers (Ms Marvel) she found her mutant powers impossible to deal with (Ms Marvel's memories would also not go away as they should have after her powers were absorbed) so she went to Charles Xavier for help.
As a former member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants she was hardly welcome by any of the X-men, especially Wolverine, who kept close watch on her. After saving the life of Mariko on a mission in Japan, Rogue gained Wolverine's trust and support on the team. Soon she was one of the most popular X-Men in comics. Her character has been a central figure in the first three X-men movies and especially the X-Men Evolution cartoon.
Rogue's story is a tale of redemption and those are always my favorite kind of superhero stories.
