Tuesdays From The Toybox - The Real History Of G.I. Joe

Once again Brother Erik feeds me some intelligence that leads to the perfect post for Tuesday. I have been working on a G.I. Joe post but this blows away anything I could have came up with. As usual, click to enlarge and learn about one of the great toy lines of all time. Personally I hate the little figures that are less than 4 inches. I was raised by the 12 inch 'dolls' with their cloth clothing and billions of accessories. They also sold good vehicles and adventures that made them fun to play with in a thousand variations. I am glad I had a sand pile behind our house in the field where we could play with our Joes and their vehicles. My beloved Teddy Roosevelt is a special G.I. Joe release. The George Washington is pretty slick as well. You just can't get that kind of detail with the smaller figures.
