My dream Ant Man was always a younger and thinner Nathan Fillion but since he is committed to Castle and to running that show into the ground (how can you blame him for wanting to be on a show that lasts more than half a season). Rudd seems like a good choice. Ant Man needs some humor for the high concept to work and Rudd has proven comedy chops. Plus to see Mr America here slap around his ex-wife The Wasp will be a shocking moment for the Avenger's franchise. Unless the movies totally avoid the issue of the abuse Janet (Wasp) suffered at Hank Pym's hands in the comic books. He also was the one who created Ultron, the main villain of Avengers 2.

Paul Rudd As Ant Man?

I had figured crossed for Nathan Fillion as well but I think that an actor with a primarily comedic background can him lead this film some credibility. I can't imagine they'll do an Ant-Man without some tongue in cheek element to it.
They're probably going to also sideline wife beating because the Mouse is in charge now.
I can see him giving her a backhand after being under stress due to all this Ultron guilt. There is a way to do it that makes it dramatic and allows for future redemption.
I'm pretty sure Ultron is going to be Tony Stark's "baby" in the Cinematic Universe - especially as Ant-Man is arriving after the Ultron movie.
