But I fear change.
I fear less clutter because I am one who likes a little bit of clutter. I hate no unfilled spaces like I hate unfilled silences. It's the reason I have to do ten things at once while worrying about each of them. It's the only way to keep ahead of the demons that haunt me now....oh and my stroke which I promise to stop mentioning. But I have all kinds of weird symptoms to explain to my doctor when he returns in two weeks.
Emergency can't do much except further push me into an anxiety attack and I will continue to do research. I would go see my old South African doctor (the one who I left and who is now working at the same clinic as my NEW South African doctor) but all he will do is confirm MY diagnosis. He is useless to me as all those other doctors were useless to HOUSE.
Now back to the website. I have thought about a move to Word Press because a good buddy on Facebook did much of the leg work for me already. I would basically have to push a button and move everything to a new addy away from Blogger. Blogger has been good to me and as I said I fear the change that I will have to adjust to. I know the learning curve will not be a very steep one but still. I need the option to bail and return to what I know at anytime. That may convince me to at least give this upgrade a try.
What do you all think? Any opinions are appreciated.
See, some change can be good.

I've heard all sorts of good things about Word Press, but if you switched, that means I'd have to switch to follow you too, and that seems like too much work for me to handle.
Hi Kal,
I moved to Wordpress several months back. I hired someone to set it all up for me. There were some issues with it.
1) Some of the formatting of my old posts isn't right.
2) My audio embeds didn't all show up.
But, the good news is that . . .
1) All of the search engine traffic moves with you.
2) And it seems more professional.
Of course, I didn't have nearly as many posts as you had. But if your buddy knows how to do it, I'd say go ahead.
I've been on the fence about moving. The devil you know versus the bright shiny thing on the horizon. I've never really had a problem with blogger, so I haven't had any need to change, but Wordpress does seem to be the way to go.
I'll likely play around with a Wordpress site at some point and run the two concurrently until I'm 100% happy with it.
I love Wordpress. I run my whole site that way (using a custom theme and a bunch of hacks that make my picture galleries and a few other special features work).
I switched in early 2012 and I've never looked back. I was able to migrate a tremendous amount of content over from a blogger site, implement a search feature, etc. It's fantastic technology. Highly recommended.
(By the way, Cal, you've got to check out the new AMC show Halt and Catch Fire. It's going to be awesome.)
If you make the switch, I would highly recommend making sure your host is a "Wordpress Host." such as WP-Engine or Web Synthesis. I've run many Wordpress sites on GoDaddy, Bluehost and Hostgator, only to have continual frustrations and hacks. Once I switched the hosting to Web Synthesis, all the problems "magically" disappeared.
(Wordpress is awesome!)
Thanks for your thoughtful answers guys. I definitely have a lot to think about.
Why would moving to Word Press bring you more readers?
It wouldn't. It would just make his site better.
