Never wore a bike helmet in all my life. We had 13 channels but one was French language but they had naked movies on the weekends. Cartoons every morning. Cartoon Lagoon at Lunch. Local news. Old movies to fill up the night hours. No informercials.
Have we "offended" you again in some way good Sir Cal...??? You seldom ( if ever responded to any comment that we make.... and you removed my "crypt" from your "side-bar" some while back....)
We had three channels. And Chiller Theater on Saturday night. Scraped, bruised and bloody. Playground equipment that reached 150 degrees in the Arizona sun. BB guns. So glad I grew up then.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

Five TV channels! Decadence. We had three when I was a kid!
Amen and AMEN.. Both rotations to Kuwait I refused to use a bike because you had to wear bike helmets on post.. I just couldn't do it.
Somehow SOMEHOW, with only 'Mr. Yuck' stickers to protect us, we all managed to survive the 'dark ages' of childhood without protective gear.
I know, it's one of the great mysteries of life, but yep, most of us managed to survive, even prosper.
"...it's like the great pyramids..."
I have lived in Marshville All of my Life....
You just "rattled-off" My Childhood...!!!

You were all spoiled! We had one channel -- ONE! And it was the CBC!
Hey, that meant Coronation Street and Space 1999 and the Prisoner on Sunday Mornings. And Tommy Hunter and his puke show on Saturday night.
Yep, that's definitely me too!
It was a better time to be a kid.
Amen to every single one of those, my friend. Heck yeah. Brings back a flood of memories, good and not so good.
