A Kim Possible Live Action Film?

Years after the conclusion of her cartoon, the Disney Channel is looking to make a live-action Kim Possible film. Casting is currently underway for the project, so no word on who will play Kim, her sidekick Ron Stoppable, or the computer mastermind Wade, but I'm sure those details will come sooner than later.

As for the film itself, the film is being written by the series creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley, as well as Josh CaganAdam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky will co-direct. Kim Possible has had animated films before, but this will be the first time a live-action version of the franchise will be created. I'm assuming if it's a hit there will be more, but my question is, are kids still going to care about Kim Possible?

Who cares if the stupid youth will care. CALVIN CARES! Calvin deserves a Kim Possible movie. Maybe a whole series of movies. Disney is a machine that can create something very cool. Rufus will be awesome as well as Draken, Shego and all the other great characters in the Kim Possible Universe. These characters will translate well and the kids today will LOVE IT. If they were getting any kind of decent parenting they would have already been shown the entire animated series by this time and are jonesing for a cool live action adventure.

I love the Kim Possible cosplay because it has kept the dream alive all these years.

I know some Hollywood bigwig saw my posts all these years and it planted the seed.

I'm surprised they're bringing in the original creators to write screenplay. Ordinarily an adaptation to other medium would be like closing a door on them.

I'm curious what motivated this development. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon have made live action TV Movies of Ben 10 and The Fairly Oddparents that looked cartoon accurate but don't think they set the ratings ablaze for Disney to think they needed in on that too. Maybe after they're looking to milk the success they had with turning cartoons into live action to build more merchandise like they did with The Descendants.

Kim and Ron will likely be fresh faces or someone in the Disney kid star stable. Naturally we'll need a recognizable grown-up in the supporting cast to lend it some credibility with the critics. I wonder if Elizabeth Banks would play Shego after hamming it up as the green villain in Power Rangers?

She's too old. Shego has to be Kim's age to make their fights equal.

You and your power rangers. I want my KP to be FRESH. Except BEEP me is hardly a thing anymore. So set the film in the 90s. Boom, problem solved.
