The Changed DOOM'S Costume Once....ONCE!

When the Secret Wars toy designs were shown to Toy Biz, the almost universally LOVED the designs which were fantastic and the equal to DC's very successul line of their heroes called DC Superpowers. Both lines pushed themselves to do the BEST representions of the characters they could do for the time and at 3 1/4 size it was a high hurdle for me to love them Bur as a comic book freak I loved all of them because each and every figure is more iconic looking than we had any reason to expect and the DC ones all had a 'action feature.' The Marvel Secret Wars figures were more static but Wolverine has his claws and cap has his shield and that was enought for me.

No back to the Secret Wars line of toys to support the legendary comic book mini-series that hid the eighties like a tidal wave. For 12 months many of the Marvel character, both Hero and Villain were kidnapped and taken to battle world to fight to the death for a creature who can grant them their fondest with. The Avengers, The X-Men and all the lone heroes were a part of this EVENT.

At first their was only supposed to be 4 issues series was know for it's fantastic art of Mike Zeck- such an unheralded genius in the comic book world./ He also drew the FIRST Punisher Miniseries which is so dynamic and kinetic and brutal but it changed Frank into the first truly great anti-heroes of 80s. At one time there were 7 new Punisher comics on the shelves. I bought them all and viscerally enjoying the way the Punisher tracks down pieces of shit and kill them.

I don't care what you say, Dr Doom's "look" desperately needs to come into the 21st century!
