If You Remember These

Then you are my people.

Oh and he was created by a Canadian too. CBC told us so.

Wicked Cool Green Lantern Footage From WonderCon

This looks like it will be a terrific film for a old school fanboy like me. Geoffry Rush as Tomar-Re? Fantastic. I also like seeing Sinestro (Mark Strong) before he became the greatest enemy of the Green Lantern Corp. I know I will be saying the oath right along with Ryan each and every time he says it in the movie. If you hadn't already committed the oath to memory years ago, what is wrong with you? You have until June 17th to get it together.

All Kinds Of Awesome

I love these con pictures that show little kids with their heroes. I know it would have changed my life to meet Spider-Man or this terrific Wonder Girl cosplayer as a kid.

I Think I Am Losing My Creative Drive

Since I gave up regular Pepsi for Cafeine Free Diet Pepsi Zero I feel so much less creative. There was a time when I couldn't stop the ideas from coming but now my brain feels stunted. I have to check to make sure there is nothing leaking out of my melon.

Happy Caturday

The A-Z Blogging Challenge - The Letter B - Buck Rogers

In the late 70s the whole effect of 'Star Wars' success found 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century' rushed into theatres. By the following fall, both shows had been retooled into television series.

I loved Buck Rogers the best. He was a man out of time who got crynogenically frozen in his spaceship and returned to Earth 500 years later where, instead of becoming a museum oddity, seemed to be in the heat of the action in his future world. I liked how this show never really explained all the illogic that surrounded it.

I was of the age when this show was near perfect entertainment for me. The visual effects were just that side of good so I never missed a show. Not that parts of it didn't make me cringe. I hated that stupid robot 'Tweeky' who for some reason thought he was witty.

I did, however, love Erin Grey as the beautiful Wilma Deering (who was endeering - see what I did there?) and how could I hate a man like Gil Gerard as Buck Rogers who brought Disco back from the past. I saw a picture of him a few years ago where he was a hundred pounds heavier and covered in flop sweat. It's not how I want to remember him.

If Someone Knitting These For Me I Would Wear Them All Day Long

I Find It Great...

That all of these new people have found my blog through the 'The A-Z Blogging Challenge' I have myself found some interesting people that I plan to follow long after this month is done.

I hope they feel the way about my blog but I have suspicions that once I go on a few of my anti-octopus rants, Selena Gomez love letters, and packs of captioned kitties, that they will quietly be looking for that 'unfollow' button.

No worries. I know I am an acquired taste but it still is interesting to see how I am viewed and if that affects the topics I blog about.

There Must Always Be A Cave Of Cool

We have now approved our next generation undersea battle tech. We can actually predict a day in the future when there will no longer be a single cephalopod in the sea. Who will the aliens communicate with then?

Daily Reminder - They Will Use The Pretty Girls To Getcha

No tactic is below them. The cephalopod is your enemy. Don't be fooled.

Why I Hate April 1st In the Digital Age

I have always hated April first. Half a day of cruel pranks that gives idiots free reign to make your life miserable until noon. Who ever made this us. Valentine's Day and Labor Day I understand. This stupid day I don't.

Things have even got worse in the age of the Internet. Every big institution has to post some faux news with the complete backing of special effects or doctored photos that make the story SEEM true. I have enough trouble wading through the crap of what is true and what is not on a daily basis as it is so I don't need to read deliberation phony rumors about things I care about.

Even the cats are not immune to this evil. "Happy April Fool's Day, Harley"
