Speaking of South Africa, Johnny Clegg has been putting out songs about his adopted homeland for decades. I discovered him through my roomate in University. He is an inportant figure in bringing African music to a much wider audience. His songs drawn on Zulu life for inspiration and combine many elements of African culure and melody.
