Speaking of Spartacus (were we speaking of Spartacus?), I love knowing that in the future he will lead a slave revolt. That hangs over everything that happens in the story. You can't do that without people behind you that believe in your cause and are willing to back you up with their lives. His generals will have to come from that very gladiator training centre (ludis) he is in now so I am always looking for the motivation to revolt in the performances of his fellow gladiators, especially the ludis trainer Doctori (Peter Mensah) who is magnificent in his role and former champion Crixus (Manu Bennett).

Yeh...its a manfest and though I think I am straight I do appreciate the 'yummy' nature of the program (thought 'it' never 'moved'). It's one of the few shows that really give a picture of the way men are when they are around each other. The 'c' word (the other name for a rooster) is bandied about a lot.
It is a fun, entertaining hour. Don't have to look super-deep into it, just enjoy it. And they definitely are keeping us on our toes with the deaths so far!
