Pretty sure that last one is just good advice for life.

Even if you don't live near crocodile that is still always good advice to look before you sit down.

Good thing they warned me to avoid sitting on the crocs because I was just looking to ride one like a water noodle behind a speed boat.

That robot the kid is playing with is Robert the Robot. I still have mine, the same one I got in 1954 when I was 4. Still works. It's the only toy that I have left of the ones from the 50s. Don't know what he's wearing on his face. Didn't have that one.

OMG Dr G. Your life spans the history of great toys. Those ones from MARX or IDEAL. I am so jealous that you have that toy. How could I have know that when I posted that picture. Weird.

Yeah. My mom told me years later it cost 9 dollars, which was a lot for a toy back then. Big points for Mom & Dad. Wish they were still here. I'll send you a pic via email.
Marx, Ideal and Mattel made some great stuff. Too bad I blew up my Robot Commando with firecrackers.

I destroyed my Star Wars land speeder the same way. We put some hook on it and attatched them to a tauntly pulled piece of fishing line. It went really far until it burned up and melted.
