Machete? IN SPACE!!

I imagine that was the shortest pitch in movie history. The idea just writes itself. But there has to be a bubble helmet and some way for Machete to shoot machetes in space and from his custom spacesuit. When it needs to start getting bloody, that's when SPACE MACHETE shall appear.

I can also see this story spun off into a Saturday morning cartoon where Machete and the Harlem Globetrotters travel from planet to planet, righting wrongs and playing a little hoop for charity. That cartoon would need a sassy Latino lady - Machete's grandmother - to drive the spaceship and manage the basketball team. Genius.

"Robert Rodriguez had several SDCC announcments yesterday, all of which varied in degrees of awesomeness. First up, it was revealed that he now owns the film rights to Heavy Metal, a project that David Fincher had long been connected with. It seems however that Rodriguez is planning on retaining Fincher's concept of the film as a multi-director anthology, one that will also include contributions by fans via this website. Better still, he's finally planning on getting Sin City 2 off the ground, directing two sequels to Machete (one in which Machete, I shit you not, goes to OUTER SPACE), and working on a remake of Frank Frazetta's Fire and Ice. /Film has all of the details, and given Rodriguez's penchant for secrecy and lightning fast filmmaking I'd say we will see some of these sooner rather than later. Machete in Space? Yes please."

Roriguez remaking "Fire and Ice"?! If thats true, I'll be there on opening day!

Hm. Would it be live action or animated though? Though Call. Maybe it could be some sort of animation live action hybrid like "Sin City", perhaps even digitally alternating the actors features to make them appear Frazetta-like.
