Return To Krypton

I wasn't going to repost this clip after watching it but then I thought of long time follower Belle and knew she would like this. She is a big fan of Superman as am I.

Did you think that Superman Returns just didn't have enough footage of Superman standing around and not using his powers in any way, shape or form? Then today's your lucky day, because here is the deleted opening of Returns -- a scene which cost $10 million dollars, by the way -- released to promote the upcoming Superman Blu-ray megaset.

So the movie was originally meant to open with a Grey Superman helplessly trying to navigate through a lifeless void? Sounds like a description of the film as a whole.

I don't know that using this scene would have helped the film any better, but it certainly couldn't have hurt it. Seeing sweat beads on his forehead and hearing his heart pound projects an image of emotional vulnerability that we hadn't seen before in a Superman movie and sadly is never seen again. What a shame.

You could say that about the film's other deleted scenes as well. They aren't perfect, but offer little bits of humanity that the picture could have used if there was a unified theme tying them together.
