I will wait until everyone gets a chance to see the first episode before I comment further. Just let me say, however, that I just watched it and it was AWESOME! Gwen is even more fiesty than before and I really like the two new castmates - Esther Drummond (Alexa Havins) and Rex Mathison (Mekhi Phifer).

No. I downloaded it off a torrent site. For the first time I am ahead of others when it comes to a Doctor Whoniverse related event.
D.I. - how does your brain even let you ask yourself a question like that? WAIT?!?! For 'Torchwood'? That is kooky talk. That is sedition, sir! If you are smart enought to know how to download then it's your obligation to do so in this occasion. Plus if someone else doesn't watch this soon I will be forced to blurt out spoilers.

I do hope you're going to do the right thing and buy the series when it comes out on DVD/Blueray.
I have many box sets of seasons from Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Doctor Who, and many other programs. I just hate waiting to watch shows I am interested in and the net reduced that frustration for me. I am ashamed to download sometimes but most times I am not.
