Is It Real Or Fake?
'Taxi Driver' was one of the first 'adult' movies that I ever watched. When I was a cadet I as lucky enough to take a projectionist course at Brandon University which had an amazing film collection. For our final exam in that course (which at age 13, I could only audit) we had to run the projector for the film studies classes. The two movies I showed were 'The Texas Chairsaw Massacre' and 'Taxi Driver'. Both are viseral shocking pieces of cinema but a real eye opening for a young kid more used to fantasy than realism.
This week I came across these two images. On is from the original 'Taxi Driver' with Jodi Foster and Robert DeNiro. The second looks to be a taken from a remake of the 70s classic but this time with Chloe Moretz and Keanu Reeves.
Is this remake really taking place or was this just some experiment in photoshopp to show how modern day actors can be placed in old film stills.
Any ideas out there? I just found out that this was a photoshoot for Harper's Bizarre that replicated famous movie scenes with today's actors to honor Martin Scorsese

Picture is real but it was for this photoshoot only. No such plans for a remake, not while Scorsese's still alive. That man commanded the most expensive television pilot budget ever made (Boardwalk Empire, but outdone by Spielberg's Terra Nova). He's Hollywood royalty. A tribal elder. He himself may be allowed to remake stuff (see: The Departed) but his own oeuvre is for sure offlimits to the hacks like Brett Ratner and Chris Weitz.
Gawd, De Niro looks so young there! Jodie Foster too, for that matter!
Thank God. I was beginning to hyperventilate. Keanu in a remake of Taxi Driver? Perish the thought!
The photo is real. Keanu, I don´t know.
