In my youth there were few hard rock bands that I loved as much as Guns and Roses. You had a lead singer in Axl Rose, who I have once heard describe as sounding like a 'coyote trapped in barbed wire' - one of the truly great power vocalists of the rock era.
Adding to that collection of musicians you find Slash - one of the great guitar gods of this or any other era. That was a rare magical combination. G&R put out three fantastic albums until Axl lost his nut and couldn't get past his enormous ego anymore.
You have to watch the hour long biography the History channel did on the group. Of all the singer and musicians around Hollywood at that time, it was a miracle that G&R came together in the first place. One of those magical accidents that make music so great.
I loved following their whole career and carry many of their best tunes in the soundtrack of my life. Now, a few days before the group gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, this big crybaby, Axl, pulls out, basically giving the screwgie to the rest of his bandmates.
Since February, Rose has remained mum on his plans, even as guitarist Slash has s comes to old Guns N’ Roses, there really isn’t anybody that makes depoken out in favour of a Rock Hall reunion — and acknowledging Rose’s antipathy. “He hates my guts,” Slash told Rolling Stone in early April. “It’s over a lot of different stuff; I don’t even know. There’s just no communication between us. I talk to Duff and Steven, but when incisions.”
Fuck you, you selfish little prick. You were the headliners at the celebration. What could they do to make you feel any more important than giving you the honor they already did. You are honored. You show up and let your fans see how much they appreciated? They like you. They really like you. They even have a giant egg they can carry you in on if you would like.
If Kiss can drop their standards to perform on Dancing With The Stars then you, Axel Rose, really can't hold your head above us all.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.
