Batman VS Robin (2015)

This is another great addition to DC Comics series of animated features and the sequel to Son of Batman. I have said for years that the new Damian Wayne Robin was the greatest addition to the Bat Universe since Harley Quinn and he is a terrific character in this movie. He is arrogant and bratty and drives Batman, Nightwing and Alfred to distraction. Here we see a continuation of the relationship between father and son and the conflict that may drive them apart forever. One was trained to kill by the League of Assassins and of course, The Batman NEVER kills. That is the choice Damian is faced with and I thought they did a great job in telling the story and showing how difficult such a decision was, given Damian's past. The decision's he makes further advance his growth as a character and I am excited to be following his journey from the beginning.

 

 

He is also being courted to join a very evil and powerful criminal organization called the Court of Owl who have their own assassin named Talon who is the equal of the Dark Knight.

 

 

A fresh villain and a story not weighed down with DC and Batman continuity makes this one another winner . The conflict between the main characters feels real and I enjoyed the fact that both Damian and Bruce had things to teach and learn about each other as father and son. The continued use of violence makes his one for adults or elder teens to enjoy.  There are so many great fight scenes within Wayne Manor and we see just how dangerous the Bat can be in his own home and especially his Cave. Nightwing in combat mode was also exciting to watch. Thrilling and violent with plenty of cool surprises. Worth your time if you are tired of the usual Batman and Robin stories out there.
