Damn I Miss University Film Studies Classes

You got to see and talk about all the classic from silent movies until present day. Thursday afternoon labs in a THEATRE? Those were truly the best of times. Metropolis, Birth of A Nation and all those great silent films, Gangster movies from the 30s to the Godfather. animation, Foreign classics like Seven Samurai and then the Hollywood Western remake. I saw them all.

I could only make it halfway through Seven Samurai. My gawd, it was dull.

Never saw the entire Fritz Lang classic... sounds like an enjoyable class to take... we first learned of these old classics as a small kid and been a fan of them ever since...

Got through Seven Samurai once. I owed it to myself to do it. I do watch the Cliff Notes version, the Magnificent Seven, at least once a year, so there. Took a film history course in school and I remember that Citizen Kane was the first movie to show ceilings in scenes. Stuck with me.
