Voq is Tyler, Tyler is Voq. That was pretty obvious as of late. I am going to hate watching this story arc play out because I like Tyler. He's a good guy. He is a survivor who will have to make a choice eventually but whatever he decides will mean his death. I see no way out for him. We all know that what human parts that are left of him will overcome this Klingon programming in the end and he will sacrifice himself for his crewmates.
Wow. Terran executions are cold freakin' blooded. It's easiest to pass in this world because being an asshole is easy. Giving into the darkness is easy. Staying decent is hard because that makes you stand out and makes you a threat, an outcast. Anyone who thinks outside the box is instantly someone to be eliminated but those same qualities are just what helps someone rise through the ranks in the Terran Empire. Those are some deep thoughts at work here. Space is no joke and travelling in it is not fun especially when you are part of an evil empire.
'Captain' Tilly is still the coolest thing about this new chapter. She's had to grow up pretty fast and now she's volunteered to work a miracle. I dig this actress very much and I LOVE her straight hair.
Voq is very cool in this world also. He is a wise leader who has united all the non-human races against the oppressive Terran Empire. The arrival of another familar character from Discovery's first chapter is also a cool reveal.
No matter where they are the Star Trek characters are at their best when they are placed in impossible situations. It's thrilling to watch things play out and you wish that you could just binge watch the whole season in one shot. But we can't. If you love Discovery you have seven days of torture to endure.
I was also very pleased with the indentity of the faceless Emperor. Now who could that possibly be? If you guessed it you did better than me. That reveal was the SWEETEST of all sweet moments.
Shit just got REAL!
