I think half of my obsession with the octopus comes from my love of these old timey diving suits. They look like they wouldn't last all of ten minutes underwater - like that old confederate submarine called the 'Turtle'. Everytime I see one I expect it to have the remains of the giant cephalopod still wrapped around it. You would have to burn the suckers off because they were stuck so hard. Yeh, I had those Captain Nemo dreams most of my life. This currently resides in the National Marine Museum of Paris. How cool would it be to hang out there for a day? Oh and for all you doubters out there. Check out below what happens when you don't wear a metal diving suit.
