TV Times
Project Runway - FINALLY we get some uncomfortable moments here and I am not talking about the bitchiness of the rejected designers that returned to help the surviving contestants last night. That was just petty. Tim was correct in his ruling on the accusation of cheating and showed once again why he is one of the great teachers and mentors. He makes his decision, explains it, and moves on. As usual he is the force that drives this show and helps it be the success it is.
The tension I am talking about was between Heidi and the designers at the bottom of this weeks show once judging was done. Gretchen especially has no patience for the critique of others and her personal arrogance and inflated sense of her own greatness and sense of entitlement is beyond annoying. I hate her and can only imagine how she comes off in real life. Add hateful to her personality traits and this woman could have been a camp guard at a concentration camp. No love, no joy, no appreciation. She deserved to get the dressing down she did but she heard NONE of it.
I was impressed with Mondo as usual who took his hurt feelings and used them to create the pieces that Heidi wanted and that maturity will take him to the end of the competition and I predict he will win. He's a fragile, tortured designer but he is a brilliant one as well. All the greats have those exact qualities.
Let's be honest also. Heidi's line is weak. If that collection showed up at fashion week she would have been found wanting. That color palette was dull and uninspired and every piece looked the same. The fact that she had a 'warehouse' of that ONE fabric so it had to be used, sparked of desperation. You can see how she let her ego take center stage in this episode.
The Middle - Middle child Sue's conversations with her girlfriend about the boy she has a crush on (her brother's best friend) so perfectly tapped into the psyche of the teen female. It rang true and that is what made it so funny. You cringe a bit but you laughed at her goofiness and that she is the reason I return to this show week after week. Also the fact that she is STILL wearing that cross country hoodie is a hilarious touch. Every character once again gets their moment to shine and that is the lesson that Patricia Heaton took from her when she was on 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
30 Rock - This show is stuffed with so many gags per second that it is coming dangerously close to collapsing under the weight of all that goofiness. I hope it never happens. Jack and Liz have such great chemistry and quickness to their delivery of some of the best written comedy scripts out there. I pray that rumors of Baldwin leaving the show aren't true. There is no one else that could ever fill his shoes.
Law and Order - L.A. - For those of you who were upset the orginal 'Law and Order' was cancelled after 20 years on the air need not fear that the things they loved about that show were gone from the airways. Just two episode in, I was so involved in the story this week and the legal balls that the Assistant D.A. had to juggle spoke to how sophisticated the scripts are. Full of all the legal manipulations we love without remembering that the law also is about people. Justice combined with fairness in the best tradition of 'Law and Order'.
Fringe - Of all the superpowers I have thought about or imagine, the guy at the beginning of this episode with the power to set events into motion (like some twisted real world Rube Goldberg device). That was pretty cool as is the turn this series is taking into darkness. I hate to see my favorite characters suffer but I just can't look away. John Noble is just as much of an acting genius as Walter and Walternate.
Still on my 'can't miss list' - Hawaii 5-0, Modern Family, No Ordinary Family, Community, Big Bang Theory, Fringe, SGU, Good Wife, Survivor and the Amazing Race.

Just started watching Law and Order UK on BBCamerica I love it too started the first L.A. one and need to get back to it soon.
Christopher
I like Law and Order UK but I notice how they are telling the same stories but with a different setting and characters. They must be adapting many of the compelling stories from our version of the series. I don't know how I feel about it.
